The event titled “Networking & MayFest” was organized by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Our Chair of the Board of Trustees, Bahar Akıngüç Günver, and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, also attended the event, which continued throughout the day at the Küçükçekmece Campus. The event, which began with the opening speeches by Erdal Uzunoğlu and Özgür Olgun, continued with company presentations, booth visits, and various workshops. At the end of the program, Orchestra IKU & DJ Academy took the stage.

The event titled “Spatial Explorations on the Culture of Living and Learning Together” was organized by the Department of Architecture on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11.00 in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta, one of our faculty members in the Department of Architecture, attended the event as a speaker and shared his knowledge and experiences regarding the new campus project with the participants.

The seminar titled “PATENTNOVATION 2026: From Electronic Systems to the Patent Ecosystem” was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on June 3, 2026, in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

Barış Kurt, General Manager of Kuantum Patent Inc., attended the event as a speaker.

A team of four students from the Department of Digital Game Design participated in the Your Turn event organized by Bahçeşehir University on May 9-10 and brought the board game Pulse they developed to the participants. Within the scope of the event, which brought together board game design, playtest processes and publisher meetings, students had the opportunity to open their games to the experience of players and present them to industry professionals. Through testing sessions conducted during the event, the team gathered valuable feedback on the game's mechanics and player experience.

Students also had the opportunity to evaluate the potential of their projects in the sector by presenting Pulse to publisher representatives. As a result of the interviews, the game attracted the attention of various publishers, which was an important indicator of the effort put into the design and development processes of the students. 

Students from the Department of New Media and Communication visited the Ara Güler Museum on Friday, May 22, 2026, as part of the “Basic Photography” course.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore Cannes, a new exhibition featuring photographs taken by Ara Güler at the Cannes Film Festival over different years.

Reflecting on the relationship between photography and culture, students observed how photography can preserve and convey the social and cultural memory of a particular era.

IKU Creative Club, one of the student clubs of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, won the "Best Breakthrough Student Club of the Year" award at the "Club Best Award Ceremony" held on May 20, 2026. IKU Creative Club received the "Most Entertaining Club of the Year Award" at the same ceremony last year.

In cooperation with the Department of Digital Game Design and the Game Design and Development Club, the "Year Closing Celebration" will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at 14.00 at INNSide in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

Organized in collaboration between IKU’s Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEMER) and Y İnovasyon Inc., the training program titled “Generative AI Tools for Academics and Effective Usage Strategies” aims to help academic and administrative staff use artificial intelligence technologies in a more informed, efficient, and ethical manner.

The training, delivered by Serkan Kav and Ali Nihat Uzunalioğlu, will be held online in two sessions on June 9-10 at 20.00.

Organized by the Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEMER), the workshop titled “New Paradigms in Distance Education: A Workshop on Efficiency, Inclusivity, and AI-Supported Learning” will explore the multidimensional aspects of digital transformation in higher education.

Bringing together representatives from academia, the public sector, civil society, and industry, the workshop will take place on Friday, June 12, from 09.30 to 17.30 at the Design Factory at the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

Poster presentations of the thesis projects prepared by senior students from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN) as part of the courses “MBG7002 Senior Project I” and “MBG8002 Senior Project II,” taken during their seventh and eighth semesters, will be held on Friday, June 12, at 11.00 in front of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in the backyard of the Ataköy building in Bakırköy Campus.

An event will be organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on Friday, June 12, between 13.30-17.00 at the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus, where students will make their "Graduation Project" presentations and then come together with the graduates.
